Parkview Residence,
Renovations

Project of full house renovation of 4 floors.

Clients wanted a focus on refreshing the spaces without too much demolition. Focus was placed on the materials and finishes selected for the spaces, and some demolition was completed in the kitchen to add a breakfast nook and coffee nook.

Future work in 2024-2025 will be completed to update the laundry room in the basement, the upstairs bathrooms, as well as creating bedrooms and a bathroom in the attic.

The main goal of the kitchen was to refresh the space and update appliances. To do so, all the cabinets and window trims were painted an off-white to create more light in the space, and the vinyl flooring was removed to add a Bolon woven vinyl flooring. The countertop was changed from plastic to a wooden butcher block, all cabinetry hardware was replaced, and the range, sink and refrigerator were updated. Moreover, the refrigerator encasing was trimmed to perfectly fit the appliance for a seamless look.

A nook in the kitchen was remodeled to create a breakfast space. The cabinets were torn down, shiplap was added to the walls and painted the same off-white in the kitchen. A wooden bench was integrated into the back wall for seating, a small pendant light for an additional source of light, and a small round table was sourced for the space.

The Dinning Room

In the dinning room, the floors were sanded down and re-tinted with a dark walnut, all the walls and trims were painted off-white, and a Rebel Walls wallpaper was added above a wall trim to create a soothing atmosphere. Moreover, the pendant ceiling fan was replaced by a modern pendant light, additional lighting was added with a floor lamp in the far right corner, and a large vintage armoire was placed here for more storage while staying in line with the modern cottage aesthetic the clients wanted.

The Living Room

For the living room, all walls and trims were painted off-white, the fireplace casing was replaced and painted the same white, and the fireplace bricks painted black. The floors were sanded and tinted dark walnut. The radiator covers were also removed.

This room was transformed from an office into a family room for reading and watching TV. All walls, bottom and window trims were painted the same off-white as the rest of the first floor. The top trim was painted black to match the integrated bookcase. The integrated bookcase was created from scratch to encompass the TV and create storage for all the client's books. The pendant fan was replaced for a modern light, and the radiator covers were removed to create a less bulky look.

Stayed tuned for more updates on this house in 2024-2025!
